We’ve got your 2014 resolution for you right here because all of our struggles go together! If you want to be more active in your community, learn about the challenges that others face in their fight for equality and find out what you can do to help build the activist network in your area then come join us at our Winter Wednesday Workshops which will be held in Dublin city centre. These sessions will run in early 2014 to promote community solidarity and understanding of intersectional feminism in Ireland today.
We have invited members of various activist, human rights and research groups to facilitate interactive sessions on how we can better build a community of engaged solidarity.
The following workshops are scheduled for Jan and Feb:
1. Eimear Ni Chaireallain on indigenous women’s knowledge of land and environmental protection activism 22/01/14
2. Transgender Equality Network Ireland discussing the current fight for correct and respectful gender recognition legislation 12/02/14
3. Theorising intersectionality: A look at the discourse and theory of feminist inclusion, exclusion and activism presented by 4 Irish researchers and writers. 19/02/13
5. Pavee Point look at Roma and Traveller women’s rights 26/02/14
There will be a small donation requested at the door with proceeds covering basic costs and the rest going to the facilitating organisations themselves. Please register your interest with us through our contact page, and keep an eye on our facebook or website for more details!
