***The deadline for the Annual Student Essay Prize has been extended to 27th January 2014***
The FWSA is delighted to announce that we are now accepting submissions for our 10th anniversary student essay competition. To encourage a new generation of feminist scholars, the FWSA sponsors an annual student essay competition for work which is innovative, interdisciplinary and grounded in feminist theory and practice. The top seven entries will be judged by our anniversary judging panel and will be published in the Journal of International Women’s Studies. In addition, the winner will receive a year’s free FWSA membership and a publisher’s prize.

We look forward to receiving your entries!
I wonder sadly why students from other countries cannot submit their papers.
Hi Zahra,
It is only open to those who are registered at institutions in the UK and Ireland at this time as we are funded (for the most part) by UK and Ireland fees. However, it’s not restricted to those with British and Irish passports. Therefore international students can enter.
I am from New Zealand – am I eligible to enter?
Unfortunately, at this point you are only ably to enter if you are registered to a university in the UK or Ireland. If this is the case then it doesn’t matter what nationality you are
Hello,
When will the entries be available to read? Will they be open access? I’d love to read the journal issue they’ll appear in but I don’t have institutional access to journals.
Thanks.
Hi,
We are currently working on the journal. Watch this space for further details.

When will details for the next competition be announced?
Hi,
