Symposium to celebrate the launch of The Christine Brooke-Rose Society. Friday 26th June 2015 at 5pm.
The society has been founded by Stephanie Jones from Aberystwyth University, and Natalie Ferris from Oxford University, to encourage and promote both the academic study and general readership of Brooke-Rose’s works. The society is supported by Brooke-Rose’s literary executor, Professor Jean-Michel Rabaté (UPenn), her main publisher, Carcanet Press and the Harry Ransom Center, University at Austin, Texas.
The launch will take the form of an evening symposium which will be held in the Margaret Thatcher Conference Room at Somerville College, Oxford (Brooke-Rose’s alma mater), from 5pm until 8pm (including a wine reception) on Friday 26th June. We have a number of speakers including Natalie and Stephanie, Joanna Walsh, Dr. Glyn White (Salford) and Dr. Joseph Darlington (Salford), as well as an address from Professor Jean Michel Rabaté.
