The Department of Sociology is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified
individual to a 3 Year Lectureship in the Sociology of Reproduction.
Applications are welcome from sociologists working in any related field,
including the sociology of gender, medical sociology, media and cultural
studies, or science and technology studies, who can demonstrate outstanding
potential in the social study of reproduction and/or reproductive
technologies. Candidates must provide evidence of completed research of
international standing and excellent teaching credentials.
The post is funded by the Wellcome Trust and linked to the Reproductive
Sociology Research Group (ReproSoc) directed by Professor Sarah Franklin.
The post holder will be expected to help Professor Franklin launch a new
MPhil in the Sociology of Reproduction in 2016-2017 and to help convene the
Department’s third-year undergraduate paper on the Sociology of Gender.
