Feminist activism seeks to highlight and challenge gendered power and to shift or transform gendered perceptions, opportunities and relationships. Activists engage in various ways, from individual DIY exploration to collective work to raise awareness, from scholarly research to volunteering, from blogging to direct political actions. The aim of this conference is to examine feminist activism now. What is the relationship between social change and our activist practices? What are the major areas of concern and what methods are used in the various sites of struggles?
The conference seeks to create a supportive environment for researchers and activists to foster dialogues within and between theories and practices of feminist activism, with a view to establishing networks and future collaborations. We welcome proposals for a variety of formats, including but not limited to:
- Short films
Proposals of 250-300 words should be submitted by 5pm on Monday 29th February.
